JMC & Restorative Practice is situated in Treaty One Territory which is within the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabeg, Anishininewuk, Dakota Oyate, Denesuline and Nehethowuk Nations, and the National Homeland of the Red River Metis. Signed in 1871 at Lower Fort Garry, the Treaty represents the law and relationship between Indigenous nations - the original caretakers of the land, who graciously agreed to share the land with settlers, represented by the Government of Canada.
